Why Cultivate a Culture of Health and Wellness

Health is wealth, so goes the old adage. Now, with more ailments than ever to contend with, and with healthcare costs and insurance premiums continually rising beyond the reach of the average citizen, more and more persons are beginning to see the wisdom in that old adage. It is not uncommon to see families spending up to $1000 on health insurance each month.
In just five years, that will add up to $60,000, which is a sizable investment. Worse still, that amount doesn’t guarantee that the family’s general sense of health and well-being will improve over the 5-year period.
Indeed much of what we call “healthcare” may better be described as “sickcare,” because for the most part, they’re merely emergency responses we get from physicians when a person is already down with one ailment or the other! And to make matters worse, the so-called healthcare system itself is gradually showing signs of systemic failure.
Should we also add that many health issues today are simply beyond the remedy of our once “trusted” physicians? To exonerate themselves, physicians now conveniently classify such health problems as “degenerative diseases”. How smart they are!
Truth is that back at medical school, doctors and their colleagues were not trained to stop you from falling ill. Their calling is to cure or heal you when you do fall ill. So if you’re going to stay healthy, it’s largely up to you! The habit of relying on your family doctor for good health is an idea that’s fast going out of fashion. More and more persons are now taking responsibility for their own health and well-being.
Indeed, your health is in your hands. By adopting a culture of health and wellness in your daily living, you’ll stay healthier and need medical attention far less often. It starts with what you do on a daily basis. Besides constantly watching what goes into your mouth and avoiding a sedentary lifestyle, you must commit yourself to a health plan.
You may design it into a 6-months, 1-year, or even 5-year personal health plan. Depending on specific areas of your health you’re most motivated to address, your health plan may include hiring a wellness coach. This will cost some money, but the health benefits are well worth whatever it costs you. Wellness coaches are good at helping to cultivate the right attitudes and behaviors that produce the greatest results.
They will also help you develop the type of action plan that will be easier to stick to. Wellness coaching programs are also available online. But it is important that you commit yourself to whichever is recommended for the goal you desire to achieve.
The beauty of cultivating a culture of health and wellness in your lifestyle is that it serves as preemptive measures towards illnesses. It also leaves you with the liberating feeling that you’re in charge of your health and your life. And if you practice it daily, it soon becomes a part of the fabric of your life-more like your culture. And what better habits to form than those that enable us to live healthier, happier lives!
As more and more health problems continue to ravage our world, there’s wisdom in taking your health and well-being into your own hands rather than relying on what government and physicians can offer. You can achieve good health by adopting enlightened self-care health and wellness practices. Cultivating a culture of health and wellness may prove to be the best habit you ever formed!…

Simple Autism Prevention

Simple Autism PreventionThere are hundreds or maybe thousands of new products on the market to help autism patients. But, since there’s no money in it, there’s been very little or no attention given to PREVENTING ‘s a very simple therapy that does just that:At the start of pregnancy (or even before), start taking a minimum of 4000 mg (4 grams) of vitamin C, split into 2 grams with breakfast and 2 grams with dinner. (I get 1 gram tabs at Costco pretty cheap.)At lunch take a good megavitamin with a day’s supply of minerals, and stress vitamins, such as Solgar’s VM-75 or an equal with good minerals as well as extra vitamins. BTW, the so-called “pre-natal” vitamins “prescribed” for pregnant women are actually more expensiveand less effective than “standard” equivalents. VM-75 is much better IMO.Since vitamin C in these amounts acts as a mineral chelator, it will gradually take out any mercury, lead, and other toxic heavy metals that cause autism. Just eating tuna fish (a staple for pregnant women it seems) gets mercury into the body. The increasing use of coal in power plants also puts mercury into the air and soil. This mercury added to that in vaccines is the CAUSE of autism in this toxicity is removed over the length of the pregnancy, the liver will be better able to filter out new mercury, and autism should go down to the 1 case in 10,000 of not so long those women further along, double or even triple those amounts and split them up more so as to literally saturate the blood. This should be enough to give the new baby a start without a toxic handicap. The only “bad” side effect from Vitamin C is diarrhea! The other prevention is to NEVER let the MD’s/hospitals give your child more than one or two vaccines at one time. Big Pharma has lied many times about the mercury in vaccines, and proved that it cannot be is chelation? The word means to “grab onto”, and a chelation chemical is designed to grab onto minerals in the bloodstream, form a new molecule that is water soluble, that is then filtered out via the kidneys and urine system. Because of the lies about vitamin C made by Big Pharma, very few MD’s and others in the health business know that Vitamin C has the same action. It also combines with the minerals in the blood to form a water soluble molecule, similar to the action of a chelator such as EDTA. Glutathione is another similar chemical. In autistic infants and children, it is almost absent. This means that an autistic child has very little chance to get rid of mercury, lead or aluminum unless these “natural” chelators or some other chelation method is present. (There are many really expensive methods of getting glutathione into the autistic person, but all are relatively poor. Both vitamin C and glutathione go out of the body in a few hours. Vitamin C is much cheaper.) The job of the liver is to filter out toxic minerals, store them, and gradually release them back into the bloodstream IF, AND ONLY IF, there is a chelating chemical present. This means that if an autistic child is tested by using blood, urine, or hair samples, the result will usually be a FALSE negative. This fact has been used in court cases to “prove” that mercury wasn’t the cause of the autism. More lies by Big Pharma!Note that the above regimen has vitamin C at breakfast and other vitamins and minerals at lunch. This allows the Vitamin “C to take out minerals for the hours it lasts in the morning. By noon, the Vitamin C has gone when the multi-vitamin/mineral pill is taken. This allows the nutritional minerals to be absorbed, With all chelation, ALL minerals are taken out of the body, and so the ones needed have to be added back into the body. Otherwise, the shortages of nutritional minerals may cause other you know any pregnant woman? If so, pass this on. It’s cheap insurance, and as an added benefit, the woman won’t get colds and flus while carrying the baby.…

Vacations – Do They Promote Good Health?

In my research the other day, I came across a statement that sounded a little “off” to me It went something like this, and I believe I am quoting fairly accurately: “Traveling is an important part of life and necessary to survival.” Now, given the information that the author is a travel agent, the extremity of the statement can be understood, but what is the actual message that is being transmitted?
In my opinion, traveling, per se, is not necessary for survival, but perhaps, VACATIONING might be! Most of us are already aware that the act of getting from one place to another can be nearly as stressful, or more so, than the every-day stresses of being home and/or on the job. Yeh, yeh… I know, there are people who just love their jobs and the benefits those jobs bring and just can’t abide being away from the work place for any length of time. But, they are the exceptions to the rule, rather than the norm. So, if that travel agent had inserted the word VACATIONING for travel, I would have a tendency to give the nod of approval… of course that person is biased. I would be too if I were selling travel!
This brings me a bit closer to the real subject for this article: THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF VACATIONING
I must begin with a “disclaimer”… I am not a medically trained person. I do not have a degree in any health-related field and would like the reader to know that the opinions expressed herein are merely that: opinions.. and based on subjective observations over a fairly long period of time. No science was utilized to gain any information and/or draw conclusions. What I do know is that the stress level of life in this 21st century is at least as high as in any other period in the modern age. As medical science overcomes disease after disease and finds effective treatments for those tough problems they can’t completely defeat, it seems that focus should narrow down to aspects of wellness studies… more than has been the practice up to this point. Probably, one reason the study of stress related health issues has lagged other areas of research is that the study of the mind and its workings is still an inexact science.
A first century Roman philosopher wrote: “Voyage, travel and change of place impart vigor.” So, it would seem, the health benefits of a vacation and change of locale have been observed for quite some time! Indeed, an annual vacation has been shown to reduce BP, heart rate, and the production of stress hormones, and actually reduces the occurrence of heart attacks by a significant amount. As a probable result of these findings, a number of countries in the UK and Europe have mandated, by law, that workers are entitled to an annual vacation of a specified duration. I, of course, heartily endorse such a policy… how about here in this country?
So, dear reader, please keep in touch and check out the additional articles that address aspects of how stress can affect your health and how I have experienced health related issues involving my area of expertise and my profession, which is performing on the operatic stage, and how I have dealt with the stress of performing and have observed how visiting other cities and countries has been beneficial in maintaining my mental equilibrium. Travel, a change of locale, experiencing a new city or culture… VACATIONING… all these things play a role in reducing and handling stress… find out more about how vacations might just be necessary for you to survive in this day and age.…

Signs You Need Braces

Do you need braces? Does your child? This is a question that orthodontists answer all the time. During regularly scheduled cleaning appointments, your dentist should be able to let you know if braces are needed and refer you to an orthodontist. However, there are some signs to look for that may indicate you or your child need braces. Learn what these signs are here.

Crooked or Crowded Teeth

One of the most obvious signs that you or your child needs braces in Lakewood is if the teeth are overcrowded or crooked. If the teeth are crowded, they can also become crooked. This may make it difficult to chew and may make it challenging to clean, as well. If your teeth are crooked or crowded, it will make flossing virtually impossible, and a toothbrush will be unable to reach certain parts of the teeth. This may lead to plaque and food particles getting trapped, which can result in gum disease or decay. Braces will help to space the teeth properly, resulting in a healthier and appealing smile.

An Overbite

This type of abnormal bite occurs when your upper teeth overlap your lower teeth. Everyone has a slight overbite, and it reaches an abnormal state when the upper teeth start to overlap too much of your bottom teeth. A good way to tell if you are dealing with a serious overbite is by looking at your teeth in the mirror while biting. If you can’t see much of your lower teeth or any of them, braces may be necessary.

Being informed and knowing when braces may be needed is the best way to ensure you get the smile you want and need. It’s best to talk with an orthodontist to ensure that you get the beautiful, straight, and healthy smile that you want and need.…
