Nutrition Made Easy: Simple Ways To Make Nutrition Fun

Nutrition is the cornerstone of good health. This article contains simple and helpful tips to keep your nutrition balanced and optimal. Don’t feed your body junk. Good nutrition will keep you looking and feeling great. These tips will teach you easy ways to keep your body healthy from the inside out.
Eat a Balanced Diet
To get a proper healthy nutrition you should make sure every meal you eat is balanced. Do not over-indulge any one food group at any one sitting. Putting all of your food groups together on one plate encourages you to maintain a balanced diet through sheer force of habit. You will find this a lot easier than trying to eat an all-vegetable dinner to make up for a vegetable-free day.
Try to include more tomatoes in your meals. The biggest benefit from tomatoes is their high concentration of lycopene. Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant that plays a role in the prevention of cancer cell formation. Research has shown that tomatoes also have potential benefits in the prevention of heart disease and lowering high cholesterol.
If you’re working on addressing your nutrition concerns, make sure you don’t villainize any food groups! Most things are okay in moderation, which means that, cutting carbohydrates out of your diet, is wholly unnecessary. Enjoy your pasta and bread in moderation and you’ll enjoy long-term energy, if you’re maintaining your protein intake, as well.
Increase Vitamin D Intake
Choose your dairy products carefully. While dairy products provide many nutrients including calcium, potassium, vitamin D and protein, you should choose low-fat or fat-free products. Drink skim or low-fat milk, as this cuts the calories, but doesn’t reduce the nutrients. If you are lactose intolerant, you can try lactose-free milk or soy milk. Many cheeses are high in saturated fat, so opt for a reduced-fat version.
Consume low-fat dairy. Dairy products are a great source of calcium and vitamin D, which help build bone mass. Additionally, studies have shown that 1,000 milligrams of calcium per day can help you lose weight, particularly around your midsection. Low-fat yogurt is highly versatile and can be used as a substitute for sour cream, mayonnaise, and even cheese.
Drink skim, low-fat or non-fat milk on a daily basis. There are less calories and fat in these types of milk, but exactly the same calcium, vitamin D and other nutrients. Your body needs calcium to have strong bones. This is especially important in childhood while bones are forming and in old age when bone loss can occur.
People over 50 need to maintain good nutrition by ensuring they get enough vitamin D and calcium. This is because, as people age, their bones become more brittle. Calcium will help reduce bone loss, and vitamin D helps the bones absorb the calcium. People aged 50 and over should boost their calcium intake either via non-fat dairy products or through supplements.
Nutrition can be easy. The strategies in this article were designed to offer simple advice that will help you maintain good health by eating the right foods. Eating well is the best way to protect your body from sickness. Your body will thank you for following these tips to keep you looking and feeling healthy.…

Top 5 Things to Consider When Choosing a Home Based Fitness and Nutrition Business

I have been involved with a few “Nutrition” based network marketing companies since deciding to be an entrepreneur. Some have been good and some have been bad. One in particular was going very well. They had good quality products, I had built a pretty large organization and things were going well.
Then the company made a big mistake. They came up with an idea and massively advertised a way to make tons of money without doing any work. “We will build your organization for you as long as you are a paying member”, they would say. Since it is an impossibility to make money doing nothing this business model and my entire organization crumbled within about 6 months.
So needless to say I have learned some things along the way. Let me save you some time and disappointment and explain to you the top 5 things to consider to find a solid and reputable Network Marketing company.
1. BBB – “A” Rating from the Better Business Bureau.
This is huge. It is also a very difficult thing to find in a home based business. But you can find one if you search. Don’t join a fitness/nutrition business unless it has this rating. This is like insurance for your business. I have been involved with companies in the past who has bad ratings from the BBB. Of course the leaders in the company would just chalk that up to disgruntled, or lazy distributors, or ignorance. Well that may or may not be the case but why not go with a company with an “A” rating in the first place.
Many people check the BBB first when considering buying products or joining an organization. This is a good thing. That means they are a smart consumer and smart potential team member. The credibility added to one’s business by having an “A” Rating from the Better Business Bureau is a huge advantage when trying to get customers or distributors.
2. Does the company spend millions in advertising?
I am involved with a company that spent $100 million dollars in advertising last year. Everyone has seen their products on infomercials. This company does it right. They test and test and test until they get it right then they go into mass advertising mode. As I write this article they have the #1 and #2 top selling fitness products in the country.
The MLM gurus will tell you that word of mouth or internet marketing is all you need. While these are very important, it is a good feeling to know that your company invests big dollars in growth through mass advertising. And if you find a company that puts those new customers into your organization, you have done well.
3. Does the company have a well known brand.
You don’t want to join a fly by night company. You want to find one that has been around for a while and who’s products are proven. A company that has built a solid reputation on quality and service. One that virtually everyone has heard about.
When somebody asks you how you got into shape and you tell them what you are doing, they know exactly what you are talking about because they know the brand. Again, this adds credibility to your business. You don’t have to gamble on a brand new start up. Most companies fail within their first 2 years.
4. The Workouts.
I might be wrong but I don’t know of any MLM company, except for one, that has actual fitness programs included in their products that you can make commission on. Other companies are just about selling magic miracle pills, or super juices.
I recommend a company that actually has the products that produce results. Many fitness programs for all different tastes and goals, as well as the best nutritional products to give you the best results. Everyone knows the only way to lose weight, build muscle, be healthy etc. is to both exercise and supply your body with quality nutrients.
5. How does the company rank amongst the top MLMs?
Matt Morris, the renowned “Unemployed Millionaire,” recently published an article titled “80 Top Network Marketing Companies: February 2010”. I recommend finding a company on this list. They have been vetted and they are proven successful.
So there you have it. My top 5 things to consider when choosing a home business. If you do your homework you will find a company that meets all of these requirements.…

The Art of Sports Nutrition Part 2

When we think of sports nutrition, we are often greeted by thoughts of the nutritional requirements for athletes and sports men and women. But is the nutrition that is required for a sports player that far amiss from that required for the normal individual? I would say yes, and no. I think it depends on how you look at nutrition. Sports nutrition usually focuses on the amount and quantities of certain macro nutrients to enable an individual to perform at their best, on and off the sports field. Straight off the bat someone that plays sport will need lots more food to provide for the sheer level of activity, and an increase in certain food sources at certain times.
Playing sport demands that an individual must perform at their peak 100% of the time. This is where the elements of sports nutrition play its role, in providing nutrition to the working muscles at those crucial times, before, during and after competition. Without the above taken into account we are likely limiting the level of performance an individual can achieve in their sport by not providing the right nutrition at the right time. That said, sheer calorie volume plays a pivotal role.
The body has a certain amount of calories a day it needs to perform at its best, that’s even before you can think about nutrition for sport. Let’s say you need 2000 calories a day just to get by in your daily living, yet you are training for football six times a week and are burning around 500 calories a time. This means you are only giving your body 1500 calories over the course of a day, which is not enough. Sports nutrition would quickly rectify this simply by adding an extra meal into your daily regime. The amount of calories you consume a day is a basic requirement, without this we cannot get technical with sport nutrition strategies as the real basics are not in place first. In this case we need to simply eat more.
With the above being said, and calories being in check, sport nutrition would then look to conveniently time the intake of carbohydrate, protein and fat into the daily diet to optimise their effects. In sports nutrition we look to optimise the use of carbohydrates and protein use in and around exercise, whereas at other times we look to utilise fat to optimise the hormonal environment. Hormones are often overlooked in the realm of sports nutrition as we tend to focus on muscles and energy production, but the hormones are the master regulators of the body.
The anabolic and catabolic process is a well understood concept in sports nutrition, which is often talked about post exercise, but what about the rest of the time with manipulating hormones like testosterone and cortisol? These two hormones are some of the major influences as to how a person will respond to a training session, without an optimised environment the person may come away being worse off and having too much to recover from. Fats such as saturated fat go a long way in hormone manipulation, so never think that sports nutrition is all about protein and carbohydrates, it is just as much about fat as well, but the right fat.…

Nutrition Tips to Prevent Acne – Avoid Processed Foods and Take Zinc Supplements to Fight Acne

In the fight against acne, I have my two tips and these tips involve one’s nutrition. Diet is very important in preventing acne breakouts. Hence, here are two nutrition tips to help you get rid of acne and improve your skin.
Right Nutrition – Avoid Processed Foods
The right nutrition is very important in the fight against acne. Needless to say, it is very important to be careful with the right foods you need to include in your diet.
You need to avoid food sources that are processed, high in fat and sugary foods. Thus, you need to get rid of fast foods if you want to have a clearer skin. Though these foods do not directly lead to the development of acne, they can cause the buildup of unnecessary toxins that can lead to stress inside the body. Ultimately, toxins can encourage the development of pimples in your face.
You also need to limit greasy foods in your diet. Grease in fried foods and fast foods can encourage the oil glands to produce more oil. This can lead to clogging of the pores and this can eventually lead to possible acne infections.
Zinc
Zinc has a very powerful effect to the immune system. With improved immune system, the body is resistant against infections and this will manifest in the skin. Every day, try to take zinc supplement to help fight acne. This will considerably improve your acne. Zinc will work best with the application of natural topical remedies.
In summary, the two tips are taking zinc supplements and restricting toxin-containing processed foods in your diet. These tips will positively improve your overall health and, as a result, reduce the appearance of acne in your face.…
